Jason Russell has been receiving more attention than his Stop Kony 2012 movement due to a recent incident during which he was arrested for masturbating and vandalizing cars in San Diego.

The incident that was caught on camera left many speculating on if the use of drugs or alcohol may have contributed to Jason acting the way he did.

Jason’s wife Danica Russell hoped to clear up any misinformation regarding her husband, especially for those who feel the filmmaker may have been involved in drug use, releasing a statement which read:
“Let us say up front that Jason has never had a substance abuse or drinking problem, and this episode wasn’t caused by either of those things. But yes, he did some irrational things brought on by extreme exhaustion and dehydration.”
Jason is currently being held on 5150 psychiatric hold, giving authorities 3 days to determine if he is stable enough to be released back into the public.
