Diggy’s debut album, Unexpected Arrival is an amazing showcase of what new generation superstar power sounds like; it could easily be labeled a cultural soundtrack for the worldly minds of today’s youth.

Offering listeners a smorgasbord of subject matter, the young Jetsetter proves his album title dead-on by mixing motivational speech on cuts like the celebratory “Hello World” and triumphant “Glow In The Dark” with unflinchingly conscious dialogue as heard on “Unforgivable Blackness.”

As inspirational as Unexpected Arrival will prove to be, above all, the album is unequivocally grade-A rap.

The intro track kicks off Diggy’s 12 track debut with an inspirational message about expectations to fail, having the courage of a 1000 soldiers, following your dreams, the will to live, and the will to win to what is ultimately known as “The Arrival.”

After the proclamation of such a powerful message, the victorious track “Hello World” will blare through your speakers with jubilant rejoices reigning from the music gods. “Hello World” is the perfect track to scream when you’re on the top of a mountain or simply feeling on top of the world.

The mood quickly moves from triumphant energy to a serious pace, where Diggy addresses the perils and stress of following his dreams on “I Need To Know.” With doubt and naysayers constantly in the background, Diggy raps to a prominent female in his life and only wants to know if she’ll be there on his loneliest nights.

The track “88” is one of those tracks that rappers love. Perfect for getting swaggy and flexing your rhyming skills, Diggy feeds off the energy of rap veteran Jadakiss on one of the hardest tracks Unexpected Arrival has to offer.

Riddled with the banging of ivory keys, “Two Up” is one of those feel good tracks that force its listeners to live it up.

“Unforgivable Blackness” is Diggy’s coming of age track, where he understands his influence as a young black man and the obligation he holds to live his life positively for those before and after him.

Diggy’s stream of consciousness about race and the power he holds as a black man is almost as unexpected as his arrival in the rap game.

“Special Occasion” is a smooth track that features the vocals of R&B singer Tank. There’s always a need for tracks that cater to the female fan base and “Special Occasion” is that “special” track.

Diggy takes his fans to the moon and the stars on his track “Glow In The Dark.” Diggy relives his journey to success and his road to victory over a mellow track that boasts a subtle triumphant beat.

Diggy flexes his singing ability on his love track “4 Letter Word.” Although Diggy’s only 16 years old, we’ve all gotten a little taste of what love has to offer. Diggy sings and raps on his track about the love and all of her bliss.

Diggy’s smash hit “Do It Like You” rings in quickly with a catchy hook sung by singer Jeremih.

“Tom Edison” is one of those tracks where Diggy gets a little cocky (in a good way). Spitting about his turn to shine and all of his excellence, “Tom Edison” is just one of those tracks that the listener is forced to vibe to.

As the last track, “The Reign” slides in perfectly to end a great consistent album with introspective moments of lyrical perfection.

Unexpected Arrival’s production has the grandeur of the most beautiful seas and the content of Diggy’s album shows his growth and maturity over the past few years.
