“I know it started in Los Angeles when I jumped off of some rafters.”

That’s what Slaughterhouse emcee Yelawolf had to say about the injury that kept him off the stage and in the hospital.

The Alabama rapper sat down with Rhyme & Reason magazine and candidly discussed the injuries that led him to not only cancel his Detroit concert, but also his SXSW performance with his fellow label mates.

“I landed on someone’s face (and found out a month later I actually broke their nose) and may have ruptured my spleen,” said Yela. “And in Madison, Wisconsin I jumped in the crowd and… I hit my back right on the button and it popped and I started bleeding internally and ruptured my spleen.”

Yelawolf continues, recapping the moments leading up to and following his hospital admittance and revealed that he and his girlfriend FeFe Dobson actually remained in Wisconsin for two weeks to he recuperate from surgery.

As far as stage diving and crowd surfing goes, Yelawolf admits that he’s not going to entirely put an end to his wild behavior, but for now he’s definitely going to put it on ice. What would a Yelawolf concert be without some wild boy roughhousing?!

All in all, Yela says the experience has allowed him to get a bit more introspective, closer to God and thankful for those who love and support him.
