The tragic case of Trayvon Martin has certainly caused unrest and outrage throughout the nation, as expressed through mass mobilization.

STORY: Preach! Rep. Keith Ellison Talks To Congress About Trayvon Martin

17-year-old Trayvon was murdered by neighborhood watch George Zimmerman as he was returning from a local store. Zimmerman approached Trayvon against orders from a 911 dispatcher. He claims he shot Trayvon in the chest on grounds of self-defense while the two were engaged in a scuffle.

The incident, which occurred back in February, has certainly sparked a conversation regarding racial profiling. Trayvon, who is Black, and only had on a hoodie, jeans and a pair of blue/white sneakers, was described by Zimmerman as having looked suspicious. After weeks of protests, Zimmerman was finally arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Many people have been outspoken about the fact that had Trayvon been another race, Zimmerman would not have pursued him. So much so that House Representative Keith Ellison is attempting to pass an anti-racial profiling act.

Since the case, many people within the political arena such as Keith Ellison have reacted to the Trayvon incident with strong support.
