GlobalGrind introduces you to a new hot Brooklyn indie-rock, urban-pop rapper and his name is Theophilus London. You could consider Theophilus to be a hipster rapper who loves old school hip-hop and its very distinct characteristics.

His ’80s inspired style and his genre-bending music, make him one of the music industry’s hot new kids on the block. Theophilus also kicks it with some hot indie talent like himself, including Mark Ronson, Damon Albarn and Solange Knowles, all of whom enjoy his music thoroughly.

His music is distinct with flamboyant ’80s inspired synthesizers and pop undertones. He credits his musical inspiration to icons such as Prince, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye. If you haven’t listened to Theophilus, then you have to google him. He’s a pretty cool guy!

He just released a new video for his song “Why Even Try.” Theophilus says that Michael Jackson, Notorius B.I.G., and Rick James inspired him to make this song about love. Check out the video below!
