The 42-year-old singer is one half of the legendary New York group EPMD along with Parrish Smith, who had a long healthy run in the hip-hop realm. But earlier this year, Erick came back with the mixtape Breath of Fresh Air for the listeners that wanted to hear something different.

Erick sounded off about what he hears today in hip-hop, claiming that everyone has been putting out the same music for the last eight years. 

From his fond memories with LL Cool J and Flava Flav, to the advice that Russell Simmons gave him that helped solidify his longevity in the rap game, Erick spilled all to GlobalGrind.
