Pusha T had the Internet on fire yesterday when he released his latest song “Exodus 23:1.”

Many who heard the track, which features The-Dream on the hook, thought the song sounded like Pusha was sending shots at Lil Wayne and his Young Money crew.

Lil Wayne responded bluntly on Twitter and G.O.O.D Music artist Kid Cudi threw in his two cents later in the night. Pusha’s brother and one-half of the Clipse No Malice, had this to say on Twitter:

However, when MTV caught up with the two who made the song in Atlanta, it seemed like beef was the last thing on their mind.

Instead Pusha talked about how the actual song came about.

Pusha said the beat, which was produced by Rico, inspired him. The rapper felt like The-Dream would sound perfect on it so he sent it to him.

And the rest is history.

Pusha also talked about The-Dream creating the hook fast and how his life stories make up most of his music.

Dope stuff. Sorry, no beef here, though.
