The name Wood Harris should be synonymous with almost every major black movie to hit the theaters since the ’90s. The century may have transcended, but Wood Harris’ grind has not.
Coming down off starring on The Wire and television shows such as Southland and Hawaii Five-0, Wood is trying his hand at acting live and direct on the stage of the classic A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway.
While Wood’s acting skills are undoubtedly ones to gawk at, his roots in hip-hop also run equally as deep.
The mere mention of Wood’s interest in music lights him up, but the mention of his late friend Tupac reminds him that hip-hop isn’t quite what it used to be.
Wood came through the GlobalGrind offices to talk about his role in A Streetcar Named Desire, but unknowingly revealed his absolute soft spot for hip-hop.
