BET’s 106 & Park has played a pivotal role in hip-hop music for quite a while now – 12 years to be exact. And since that span of time, the show has welcomed and given the bon voyage to a few hosts who’ve helped cultivate the music video countdown program into what it is today.

DETAILS: Is Bow Wow The Fresh New Face Of “106 & Park?”

From 2000-2005, the 106 & Park hosts were AJ and Free, for only a short period after that in 2005, it was Big Tigger and Julissa, and from 2006 to their last episode on September 28th, Rocsi and Terrence J were the faces of 106.

But since the charismatic duo announced in June that they’d be walking away after six years to pursue other endeavors, a search has been taking place that ended its run yesterday when the latest incarnation of hosts were announced.

And when it’s in with the new, and out with the old, sometimes things change.

So instead of following the same recurring formula of two individuals – one male and one female – BET chose to give the show a new type of swag by enlisting four different people to entertain the show’s many loyal fans.

The fantastic four are as followed: Shorty da Prince, Miss Mykie, Paigion and Shad Moss. Now for most people, the only person on this roster that’ll probably have you bat an eyelash is Shad Moss.

Why? Because Shad Moss is none other than the rapper/actor Bow Wow.

And who better than Bow Wow to be a host of 106 & Park? Not only has he been a part of hip-hop since before the show even existed, but he’s also been featured as a celebrity guest host before, so he’s already right at home.

Even though the YMCMB artist might get the thumbs up from you guys, we know you still may be up in the air about the three other members of this newly formed team.

So naturally, GlobalGrind decided to give you the 411 on all four hosts, from Bow Wow to Shorty da Prince.

Check it out below.

Shad “Bow Wow” Moss (25) born in Columbus, Ohio has been rapping since he was a minor. At the age of 13, he released his debut album Beware of Dog, followed by an acting career that started in 2002, in which he made a cameo in All About The Benjamins and starred as the lead character in Like Mike the same year. Currently, Shad Moss is an artist underneath the Young Money/Cash Money umbrella.

Mykel “Miss Mykie” Gray (27) born in Denver, Colorado is a model, dancer, actress, and singer-songwriter. As a singer, she opened up for notable acts like Tyrese GibsonSlim Thug and Sean Paul. She graduated from Howard University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

Kimberly “Paigion” Walker started off at the age of 15 as a high school reporter for Detroit’s WJLB, followed by an internship at Radio One Detroit. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in film and media studies. After her college career, Kimberly Walker landed a gig at the number-one hip-hop station in D-town, Hot 107.5. The new 106 & Park host can add producer for The Tom Joyner Morning Show and The Rickey Smiley Show to her résumé as well.

Jordan “Shorty Da Prince” Johnson (24) born in St. Louis, Missouri was a radio host on Detroit’s Hot 102.5. He was also discovered by Kevin Liles at the age of 15 as a rapper, and signed to Atlantic/Warner Bros. Records. As an artist, he’s worked with the likes of Trey Songz, Maino and B.o.B.
