A couple of days ago, Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, was made available for preorder on iTunes, which means we were able to see the album’s tracklisting.

We couldn’t help but notice that his collaboration with Lady Gaga, called “Partynauseous,” was M.I.A. This was confusing, considering Gaga herself confirmed that the song would be on his album.

However, it’s not, and earlier today, Kendrick Lamar was on The Breakfast Club radio show explaining why:

“Me and Lady Gaga, we really good friends. She’s not on the album. We got some records, but when I was breaking down the bulk of the album, the ones we picked, we set them aside for future reference.”

Moments ago, Gaga posted her side of the story on her LittleMonsters website.

In a nutshell, Gaga said that the reason why the song won’t appear on the album is because of artist decisions that Kendrick’s team wanted to make. However, thankfully, the singer said there was no beef and everything between her and Kendrick Lamar is all-good, saying that she loved “Kendrick dearly as a friend” and that “he’s a good kid.”

Here is Gaga’s full statement:

“I apologize to the fans that this situation with ‘Partynauseous’ is confusing. To it clear it up I must explain this. When I collaborate with an artist I work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music. This is why I am not his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have. That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He’s a good kid, its just sometimes a mad city. -LG”

Hopefully “Partynauseous” will hit the streets one day!
