‘The Hangover’ might have been a lark-filled booze-soaked buddy movie for some, but for oft-troubled former-heavyweight champ Mike Tyson, it was a life changer. ‘I was telling my wife that I feel like I won the championship of the world again,’ Tyson told reporters backstage at the Golden Globes after ‘The Hangover’ took the award for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.
‘I got all these white people [saying], ‘Hey stop.’ Hey, where did these guys come from?’ the one-time boxing champ added.
Tyson’s surprise appearance both on stage during award presentations and backstage after his movie’s victory was one of the show’s great moments. Backstage, he was bubbly and playful with his ‘Hangover’ co-stars and pointed out that he had to be convinced to do the movie which displayed Tyson’s game comedic chops (and terrible singing voice).
