More news on Jacintha Saldanha’s suicide is trickling in, with new reports that she left not one, but three suicide notes.
According to The Huffington Post, two notes were found in her room and another in her possessions. Detective Chief Inspector James Harman said that Saldanha was found by a colleague and a member of the security staff.
Authorities have not released specifics on the suicide notes, but they are still piecing together details of her death with the use of information provided by emails and telephone calls. However, Harman did say that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
On Thursday, the coroner’s officer Lynda Martindill gave additional details about Saldanha’s death:
Coroner’s officer Lynda Martindill said nurse Jacintha Saldanha was discovered hanging by a scarf from a wardrobe in her nurses’ quarters on Friday by a colleague and a member of security staff at London’s King Edward VII Hospital. She also had injuries to her wrists.
Martindill said an attempt to revive Saldanha failed. The case is being treated as an apparent suicide.
Details about the autopsy are said to be released this week.
