It’s been a year and a half since Amy Winehouse passed away, and 16 months later there’s still some mystery surrounding her untimely death.

According to the AP, a request has been submitted to re-examine Amy Winehouse’s cause of death. The initial discrepancies stem from the resignation of Assistant Deputy Coroner, Suzanne Greenaway, who performed Amy’s initial autopsy.

AP Reports

Greenaway had been appointed an assistant deputy coroner in London in 2009 by her husband, Andrew Reid, the coroner for inner north London. But she resigned after authorities learned she had not been a registered U.K. lawyer for five years as required by the rules.

She had practiced law for a decade in her native Australia. Reid was suspended, and he resigned earlier this month.

Currently, Amy Winehouse’s official cause of death is accidental alcohol poisoning, but that all may change if coroners perform another autopsy on the “Back To Black” singer.

The Winehouse family lawyer spoke out, stating the new autopsy request was not made by the family.

We hope the Winehouse family finds peace and that Amy can be put to rest for good.
