After the National Rifle Association released a statement about their meeting with the Vice President yesterday, calling it disappointing, Joe Biden is now saying that the meetings were productive.

“I thought we had a very straightforward, productive meeting,” Biden said when asked by reporters about his Thursday session with the NRA.

Biden said the NRA and other gun owner groups have “a different perspective” on the cause of gun violence, but allowed that the organizations do not speak with one voice.

“There was actually a difference among them as well,” he said. “There was not a uniform view.”

As he has with many of the other groups from which he’s sought input on gun violence, Biden said resolving the nation’s issues with guns will take a comprehensive approach from all facets of society.

“There is no silver bullet, there’s no, as one of my friends said, no seat belt to put on to be sure that we will not be in this circumstance again,” he said.

But when asked his thoughts about the NRA’s reaction, which accused the White House of having an “agenda to attack the Second Amendment,” Biden continued the White House position of not responding to NRA’s barbs.

Welp. Guess that went as well is it could considering the NRA’s staunch stance on guns. Sending good vibes to Washington to help them end gun violence once and for all!
