VIDEO: Beyonce On Super Bowl Blackout: “Lord Jesus It’s A Fire!”

He is Rubin Singer, a 34-year-old American designer sure to see Jason Wu levels of fame after outfitting Bey’s biggest performance yet.

Beyonce first met the designer who was then just in his twenties, 6 years ago through her stylist, and has since worked with him for her 4th of July performance gown and a New Year’s Eve embroidered bodysuit that were both fierce and fiercer. Rubin even noted that Solange and Beyonce write him thank you letters for every piece of clothing she returns.

Rubin started out his career as the Associate Designer at Oscar de la Renta, and since then has held positions as the Head Designer of three Bill Blass licensees, and later the Head Designer of Kai Milla before embarking on his own namesake venture.

But this whole fashion thing isn’t new to the dapper designer; he comes from a long line of pushpins and singers. According to his website bio, Rubin is a third-generation couturier; his father Alik created costumes for the Bolshoi Ballet and Stanislavski Theater. His grandfather, for whom he is named, was one of the most celebrated designers in the Soviet Union, dressing Russian royalty, Soviet political figures, and the social elite…and now Rubin is dressing the R&B elite, would ya look at that!

Rubin’s designs have been worn by celebrities such as Glenn Close, Beyonce, Heidi Klum, Lucy Liu, and Alicia Keys, and with an aesthetic that focuses on strong, independent women, we can absolutely see why.
