Brace yourselves, East Coast: You are about to get hit with a whole sh*tstorm of snow this weekend.

Snowstorm Nemo is expected to land in New York City (the home of GlobalGrind) at around 7 p.m. tomorrow evening. By the time the snow stops falling in the city, at around 5 a.m. Saturday morning, expect anywhere from 10 to 14 inches of the white stuff to be on the ground.
One of the more interesting aspects of the storm is the name. Nemo. Honestly, when you think about the name Nemo, you don’t think of a powerful snowstorm. You think of little cute animated fishies.
So what’s the deal with the name? Where’d it come from? Is the naming system like the one we use with Hurricanes? It is, in fact, not.
EXCLUSIVE BLOG: Wake Up, New York! Why The Greatest City On Earth Can Disappear In 50 Years
As it turns out, in October, The Weather Channel gave themselves the authority to start naming snowstorms.
Before that, snowstorms didn’t get cool names that hurricanes got (like Wilma, and Ike). Instead, snowstorms were called “The Great Storm…” or something nondescript like that.
So we decided to go back, find some of the worst storms in United States history, and give it a classic ratchet name.
Scroll down and take a look as we rewrite history.
