Last night’s red carpet chatter at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards was all about what the stars were wearing – and Katy Perry’s boobs. But now we are taking a closer look at what brings the look all together: The makeup.
We selected some of our standout makeup stars of the night, including Beyonce and Rihanna, who donned red lips in very different ways, and J.Lo and Katy Perry, who played up the eyes.

After rounding up photos of the beauties, we consulted with our resident beauty expert and professional makeup artist Myrna Daher to give us a few tips and tricks on how to perfect some of our favorite red carpet makeup looks from the Grammy Awards.

Katy Perry:
This Hollywood glamour look works for Katy and she rocked it, looking fresh and very angelic. The first thing you notice is a thin layer of black lashes (presumably from her own lash line that she shouted out at the podium) which add depth and volume to Perry’s eyes.
Her crease is carved with a sexy grey and a soft bone-like brow highlighter and inner corner has a little shimmer to give her eyes a pop. Her brows are powerful and shaped to perfection and to achieve this look use nothing but the best, Kevyn Aucoin’s ‘Precision brow pencil’ for hair-like strokes for definition. Her foundation can be easily recreated by Smashbox Cosmetics all in one camera ready BB Cream. Use a highlighter to create the freshness, which is used on Perry’s nose and upper and lower t-zone. For cheeks, use Natura from Kevyn Aucoin and you have this Hollywood glam look!

Beyonce:
Beyonce always brings her A-game to the red carpet and of course, these power lips fit her swag. The Rouge Volupte Shine collection from YSL has the perfect match for Beyoncé’s power lips ‘rouge in danger.’
Her brows are so natural and have the right amount of definition, this is why you must use the best of the best for brow sculpting, Kevyn Aucoin’s ‘Precision brow pencil.’ Her eyes have a natural touch of lashes along with a light-wheat on the lid, and a subtle highlight under her brows. To complete the eyes, use the new Kevyn Aucoin eye shadow duo ‘ 202 Vellum shimmer/shimmering wheat’ for that Beyonce Radiance. I am in love with the YSL new lip collection because of its large variety. Rihanna’s bold lips are fierce and you can get this look using Rouge Volupte Shine in ‘Corail Incandescent.’ Dior’s ready-to-wear palettes make it very easy to get Rih’s soft shimmery eyes using palette 481 ‘Smoky Khaki.” For her subtle eyeliner, use a gel with a fine point and drag it across your lash line. Rihanna’s skin is glowing and the ‘Pefection Lumiere’ from Chanel will give you the same effect. The Chanel ‘Soleil Tan De’ Luminous bronzing powder in ‘Sable Beige’ will provide enough warmth and highlighting, along with a touch of gold, and you can easily replicate the natural glow that Rihanna is rocking!
J. Lo:
She never gets old to me. I love this woman and she is pulling off the Arabian eyeliner like a pro! By using a fine point eyeliner and defining your inner corner and winging it towards the outer corner, you will achieve this. Use Laura Mercier’s crème eyeliner in Noir for an ultra-smooth, waterproof application, along with their angled eyeliner brush. Power lashes give her the depth and ultimate sexiness. With ‘Pink Crystal’ from Laura Mercier you’ll have the effects of soft shimmer that glisten like J.Lo. Power brows from the man Kevyn Aucoin and ‘Beige Instinct’ from YSL, and you got yourself a chic rocking look. For the ultimate dewy look, buff on your foundation from Face Atelier and use the shimmer pallet from Smashbox cosmetics.
