The San Diego Padres’ Carlos Quentin is ’bout that life!

During last night’s baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, a brawl broke out involving approximately one hundred people – resulting in one player’s broken collarbone.

The non-contact sport got physical after Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke pitched a ball towards Padres’ batter Carlos Quentin. Quentin was hit in the shoulder by Greinke’s fast ball and was not going to stand for it. Greinke allegedly exchanged words with Quentin before the two men wrestled to the ground. Both teams cleared their benches and rushed to their teammates’ aid.

Greinke and Quentin have a history of tension between them. Greinke claims his pitch was innocent and was not intended to harm, despite Quentin believing he’s “always hitting him on purpose.”

In response to the brawl Quentin said, “I’ve been hit by many pitches. For the amount I have been hit and my hitting style, I’m going to repeat: I have never reacted that way.”

Getting hit numerous times, especially by the same pitcher, can be frustrating. Quentin’s frustrations got the best of him and infuriated fellow teammates from both teams. Jerry Hairston Jr and Matt Kemp from the Dodgers also had to be restrained. Quentin, Hairston, and Kemp were ejected from the game.

Unfortunately, Greinke suffered a broken collarbone. Greinke was recently signed to the Dodgers for a $127 million, six-year contract.

Despite the brawl, the game went on after a fifteen-minute delay. The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 3-2.

Violence isn’t the answer! Especially with $127 million on the line. Shape up boys!
