Have you ever been in love with someone that you knew you could NEVER be intimate with? Maybe this certain somebody has earned your attention, respect, and genuine LOVE; yet being anything other than amazing, platonic friends is out of the question. Just to be clear, I can assure you that I am optimistic about the future of my relationships with men because my greatest good is immanent, but this current love affair I’m referencing is a very special one between myself and one of my closest friends. He is my “GHUB” aka Gay Husband, and his name is DiAndre Tristan.
Okay, before you try make this make sense to YOU, understand that I am being completely sincere when I say that this man has been more consistent, more forthcoming, more nurturing and completely present for “us” than any other guy I have EVER dated…EVER! Which just goes to prove that believing that a genuine, lasting love affair does not have to revolve around sex. Yeah dammit! I said it, and I know what you’re thinking, but c’mon yall, please don’t tell me that you think I can ONLY focus on my sexual prowess, or my sometimes voracious sexual appetite??? I am multi-faceted in my appeal and desires, and I can love males without trying to hump them! Plus the operative word here is not gay, but husband. He exemplifies what it means to be a “rider”, and I know he genuinely loves me and wants the best for me.
So with that being said, I have to celebrate the goodness of my reality with Tristan, and I am happy to share it with you.

I remember the light bulb going off a couple of weeks ago when I was staying at his apartment while he was in LA working. I had come to D.C. to visit some other friends and tie up a couple of loose ends when I was walking around in his empty apartment thinking what a wonderful friend I have! He was not physically there, yet he made it possible for me to stay in his apartment, have a filled refrigerator, arranged for me to get pampered by calling in favors, AND left me some cash!!! Damn!
He has single handedly become my most valued confident, my most trusted Personal Assistant and the Fab fashion forward personal stylist that I love to play dress up with! Most people I encounter in the business seem to have a hang-up about gay men. Maybe they feel insecure, or maybe they think the gayness will rub off on them; whatever the case, I think its all nonsense and ignorance! Miss Tristan makes me crack the hell up, he is the BEST shopping and dinner companion, and best of all his heart is filled with the love of the LORD. His networking skills are so smooth, I introduce him to my make-up artist Elena, and next thing I know he is a regular @ her ABC morning show job, with Ms. Gayle King calling to wish him Happy Birthday. There is never any Queen drama, no neck twisting, finger popping or fits! He does not drink or smoke and being kool under pressure is his mantra! He keeps me up on the “T”, and he always exclaiming “serve” when the news is good. Oh and for the record, if the person in my face is doing too much, he aint never scared! He aint but 130 lbs. soaking wet, but the heart don’t quit, and if necessary, his mace makes an appearance with burning eyes being the end result LOL!
Some things cannot be explained, but when it’s this good, why question it?? I pray to be healthy, happy and whole everyday, and I stay grateful that my G-Hub is my angel on earth making that possible. Thank-you just for being you babe, DOWN.
