“It is our thinking, more than our surroundings, which determines our level of happiness. Hold a thought and you will create an emotion. That emotion drives a behavior, which in turn creates an event. To change your events you must first change your vision.” Lucinda Cross

Not sure what your next move should be? Are you uncertain about the future? Do you need some inspiration and motivation? Whenever I feel that I am up against the wall and not sure what’s next, I study my vision board. What is a vision board? A vision board is a collage of pictures and words representing your dreams, goals and aspirations. The board must be placed in a location where it’s visible everyday and serves as a constant reminder of what you are working towards.

Joel Osteen once spoke of visions and he stated that we must change our vision in order to change our lifestyle. Using chickens and eagles as an example, he went on to demonstrate that the chicken’s vision is limited, they only go after more of the same thing that is placed in front of them and they are always pecking down, they never look up for other things to eat. An eagle, on the other hand, uses his vision and soars, he chooses to get his food from afar, his vision is expanded and he uses that to survive. Now is your time to soar like an eagle. Create your vision board and let it take you to limitless places.

Supplies you’ll need for creating a Vision Board:

You will also need magazines for words and pictures that are relevant to you and you visions. Cut them out and place them in a pile.

Second, organize the contents of your board. Remove anything that is not part of what you are trying to achieve. Be sure to place a picture of yourself in the very center of the board. Secure all the items to the poster board. Lastly, place your board in a location where you can refer to it daily. You want to make sure that you don’t lose sight of your goals and aspirations.

My vision board is so very important to me, because sometimes life will throw curveballs that can throw you off course. If it wasn’t for my vision board, I’m sure it wouldn’t be as easy to stay focused.

Live Great.
