A little bit of remote festival flair was brought to New York City this weekend, as the crowds rolled in to check out the 3-day music fest that is Governors Ball…unfortunately, some uninvited guests rolled in as well: the clouds.

We know how that goes; the outdoor venue becomes a cesspool of ankle deep mud, and what we all imagined to be a sun-drenched weekend of music, turned into a rain-washed sandal cemetery. But thankfully, festival fashion didn’t take a blow.

GlobalGrind was on the muddy scene at the 2013 Governors Balltaking a look at some of the brave music lovers bearing the elements.

From straight out hippie wear like the couple above, to more expected “I found this inspiration on Pinterest” looks, there was something for everyone on Randall’s Island.

Check out what we snapped below.

Donna Peters wasn’t letting the gray skies dull her shine; the festivalgoer added a punch of color with a neon sweater. Good call on the mud repellant boots.

Our flower girls Caity and Mary of Free Mary Anne were on the scene selling their awesome headbands in tie dye dresses.

Of course it wouldn’t be a music festival without a good blend of high waist shorts and bra tops.

These ladies kept it breezy (and brave) in whites while out in the muddy terrain.

Not one, not two, but three graphic printed button down shirts…We’re pretty sure they had a 3-way phone convo about this before hand.

And here goes the fourth member of the button down boy band, whose balanced look we actually dig quite a bit.
