When I think of being a father, I think of leadership. I think of love. I think of being there for my family.
A true father is not only there for his family, but he’s also involved in his community. A true father will not only be there to provide financially, but he is also there as a friend and mentor.
On this Father’s Day, I reflect on the good times I shared with everybody on Run’s House, and times that were not so pleasant. I can’t tell you how much of a joy it was sharing my parenting with the world on MTV.
To me, a great acronym for father is, F-faithful A-attentive T-teacher H-hero E-encourager R-revered. These are the qualities I strive to bring to not only my own children, but to the world.
To all the fathers out there who are striving to be a great father, enjoy this day. Don’t go too hard on yourself, and try to remember these words always. “DO YOUR BEST AND FORGET THE REST”
