We here at the Global Grind offices listen to a lot of music. So much that it’s sometimes hard to keep track of and process it all. A lot of times we only get to listen to a song once. Certain songs, though, we can’t help but repeat over and over – they’re just that good.  In this new daily feature, we will be breaking down the day in music by the number of times we listened to a track. 5 is that track that had us go back and rewind more than once, the musical highlight of our day. 1 – we listened to it once and sent it packing to the recycling bin.

Today, a lot of great new music made it’s way onto the net. From anticipated debut singles to great unreleased tracks, it’s been a good day. Here are the five tracks that had us talking the most, starting with the best of the day:

5. Keri Hilson – Breaking Point

It’s been a while since we last heard from Keri Hilson, but she finally back with ‘Breaking Point,’ a soulful ladies anthem produced by none other than Timbaland. This song is a pleasant surprise – given the sucess of Keri’s last album, one would’ve thought she would come back with a ‘Turnin’ Me On’ or ‘Knock Me Down’ retread with a huge feature as the first single, but Ms. Keri brings it back to her r&b roots with this one. It sounds like something Aaliyah would’ve recorded were she still with us.  Keri’s sophomore album No Boys Allowed will be out at the end of the year, and if this song is any indication she’s about to have the R&B game on lock.

4. Kelly Rowland – Forever and a Day

When we heard Kelly Rowland on David Guetta‘s ‘When Love Takes Over’ last year , we knew the ex-Destiny’s Child had finally found her voice as a solo artist. The hard-hitting house production Guetta made his name own is the perfect vehicle for Rowland to showcase her powerhouse vocals. ‘Forever And A Day,’ the latest single from her upcoming album, simply titled Kelly Rowland, is yet another club anthem. If she keeps making hits like this Kelly will be giving Beyonce a run for the crown in no time.
