Around this time two years ago, English singer James Blake released his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album. The album was stunning just because of how different it was: James combines soul, blues and dubstep for some of the trippiest music you’ll hear.

James Blake has another album coming later this year called Overgrown and the singer just released the project’s first single, called “Retrograde.”

The track was originally premiered by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, and Blake put out the full version shortly after.

Retrograde sounds like it belongs on his debut: the song starts off with a simple moody piano and handclaps and then slowly builds up with all these crazy synths.

Overgrown is expected to hit stores on April 8, and we can’t wait. Check out “Retrograde” above.
