When you think of Jay-Z and Beyonce, you automatically think hip-hop’s “Bonnie & Clyde.” And to an even greater extent, music royalty.

And when you hear Jay-Z and Beyonce work together on a song like Jay’s “Part II (On The Run)” off his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail where he raps:

“My baby mama harder than a lot of you niggas/ Keep it 100, hit the lottery niggas.”

While Bey sings:

“I don’t care if they give me life/ I get all of my life from you/ And if loving you had a price, I would pay my life for you.”

Not to mention – via The International Business Times – that if you combine the many assets of the powerhouse duo:

Like Jay’s earnings as the co-founder of RocNation, co-owner of the 40/40 nightclub, coupled with Beyonce’s earnings through sales from her Mrs. Carter World Tour, Pepsi and H&M collaborations…

making them “Music’s First Billionaire Couple,” you presume that they have to be the most epic couple in music history!

But creating dope music together and being music’s first billionaire couple doesn’t necessarily make them the most epic couple in music history, even though one could argue that assertion.

Aside from Jay-Z and Beyonce, music has had couples whose legacy will forever be cemented in our minds: Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love, Johnny Cash & June Carter, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Sonny & Cher, you name it.
