Less than a week after his death, Glee star Cory Monteith’s autopsy results are due after officials fast tracked the investigation.

His toxicology results are expected even quicker, according to B.C. Coroner Services spokeswoman Barb McClintock. But not everyone is eager to see what they will reveal about Monteith’s substance use.

His cousin, Richard Monteith, has spoken out to ask fans to remember Monteith for his successes, not for what the toxicology report might reveal about his struggle with addiction.

“Please don’t judge on what is gonna be coming out,” Richard Monteith told Global BC TV in Canada Monday. “Glass half full. All the good things that he’s done. There’s more things on that side to focus on.”

He told Global BC that he wasn’t aware of Monteith’s relapse.

“As guys, we didn’t really talk too much about problems,” he said. “But for me, anyways, that’s not the focus. People are gonna focus on this last chapter as a bad thing. Don’t use the last chapter do judge someone’s life … Because his life is full of beautiful stories and failures and successes. It doesn’t matter about his problems. It matters about the lives he changed. It matters that he was genuine.”

Richard Monteith may not have known about his struggles because the Glee star was living a double life, according to sources close to Monteith.

Sources tell TMZ that his girlfriend Lea Michele and castmates were aware of his struggles but spent a lot of time keeping him sober and clean. The source says that Monteith never showed up to set under the influence and abstained from drugs and alcohol.

But when he went to Vancouver, things were a little different.

According to TMZ:

Our sources say Cory’s resolve to stay clean dissipated whenever he returned to his native Canada.  That’s where he became a drug addict with a serious drinking problem.

Corey went back to Vancouver many times, and hung out with many of the friends who helped fuel his addiction.  We’re told alcohol and drugs were always involved.

Our sources say Cory’s family was aware he reverted back whenever he went North of the border, and they tried in vain to help.  We’re told as family members became alarmed recently and began making a full-court press … Cory became distant.

But despite his double life – and what the toxicology report may show – his friends want others who are battling the same demons to be inspired by his story.

The actor’s close friend Brook Lander Shurtz told E! News that Monteith’s “genuine” candidness about his addiction issues will be an inspiration for others battling the same demons.

“He handled things very honestly. He acknowledged his past, and he accepted responsibility,” Shurtz said. “But I think he used it in a way to help others and bring a positive message that he came from a certain place and he made it out. And I think that people are down and out on their luck, I think Cory is an inspirational story and will live on, and will continue to be an inspirational story for all these people that are struggling and maybe don’t have a direction. I think they can look to him and say, ‘I can do it too.'”

We hope they will too. Rest in peace Cory.
