Texas Gov. Rick Perry has finally succeeded in controlling women’s reproductive rights.

On Thursday, the Republican politician signed his state’s newest abortion restriction bill into law.

According to MSNBC:

House Bill 2, which finally gained full approval from the state Legislature last Friday, will ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, require abortions be performed in ambulatory surgical centers, require doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at hospitals within 30 miles of the facility, and require doctors to administer abortion-inducing drugs in person—rather than allow a woman to take them at home.

Earlier this month, Perry’s support of the bill drew criticism from women’s rights groups, abortion groups and State Sen. Wendy Davis, who staged a day-long filibuster to combat the measure.

Let’s hope this is the last time Perry desires to control things he has no right to control.
