We didn’t see this one coming.

The same men who protect President Barack Obama could also have a hand in saving Chris Brown from being thrown behind bars for allegedly striking a young man in front of a Washington D.C. hotel last weekend.

That scuffle landed the R&B singer in jail with a felony assault charge that was later dropped to a misdemeanor. He is expected back in court in late November.

But according to TMZ, a Secret Service agent told cops he heard the alleged victim tell a D.C. officer that Brown never hit him.

The cop later DENIED ever even speaking with the witness in question.  But get this.  A Secret Service agent made contact with D.C. police and told them he happened to be around when the victim told the cop Chris never struck him.  The agent says he absolutely heard the victim’s admission to the cop that Chris never struck him.

This is doubly helpful for Chris.  In addition to the fact that a Secret Service agent can testify on Chris’ behalf, the testimony could destroy the credibility of the alleged victim.

If that happens, the prosecutors will drop the misdemeanor assault. It would mean the possibility of Brown’s probation being revoked (stemming from the infamous Rihanna case) is slim. If the revocation does happen, he’ll go to prison for four years.

But, per usual, the drama doesn’t end there.

Turns out Breezy was not drug tested at his arraignment for the alleged assault. The revelation comes up as the question about his drug use and decision to check into rehab is front and center.

The test is standard protocol in such cases.

“I don’t know why [Brown’s test was waived],” Leah Gurowitz, the Director of Governmental and Public Relations for DC Courts tells Radar. “It’s a condition of release. Sometimes it’s ordered and sometimes not. But I don’t know if they decided he didn’t need it for whatever reason.”

Smells like yet another scandal in the Chris Brown saga. We’ll keep you updated.
