So maybe this Kanye West vs. President Obama “beef” is one-sided.

Despite Kanye and President Obama’s perceived tumultuous relationship, the POTUS is still listening to Yeezus’ music on his iPad. In a recent interview with The Guardian, President Obama praised Ye’s musical merits.

Over the years, President Obama and the “Black Skinhead” rapper have exchanged jabs at each other. After the 2009 MTV VMAs, President Obama called Kanye a “jackass” for interrupting Taylor Swift, which obviously didn’t sit well with the Chicago emcee. During an interview with Philly’s Hot 107.9, Kanye talked about President Obama’s “jackass” comment:

“I don’t care if somebody the President or not. I care about thoughts, and how you helpin’ people, and what you bring to the world. My music brings joy to people. What I create brings joy to people, and I’m about people. Me, I’m not about me. I’m about, ‘I got an idea that people gonna like.'”

He also added that President Obama shouldn’t talk about Kim Kardashian:

“He shouldn’t mention my baby mama name, ’cause we both from Chicago.”

Despite all of Kanye’s disgruntled comments, President Obama still thinks the 36-year-old rapper’s music is outstanding.

“Kanye’s music is outstanding, though. I’ve got a lot of his stuff on my iPad. If it was a concert, then I might not mind listening to him.”

That’s right President Obama, kill Kanye with kindness.
