Michelle Obama and Kerry Washington’s differing worlds of Scandal may have more in common than just the political realm. Both women have a special link to the Smithsonian Institute. For Olivia Pope, it’s her papa Rowan’s fake job, and for Michelle, it’s her Jason Wu dress.

For the next year, visitors to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History will be able to get an up close look at Michelle Obama’s second inaugural ball gown. The Jason Wu silk chiffon halter dress is on special loan from the White House and is now displayed at the center of the museum’s First Ladies exhibit, and of course, the Jimmy Choo shoes are there too.

The second inaugural gowns are typically exhibited at presidential libraries, but they made a special exception for this little number, since presidential libraries typically take years to build.

And we brought up Scandal for a reason, as Michelle recently admitted she is a fan of the show. According to a post on The Atlantic, the author overheard President Obama telling people Michelle has started watching the show.

Via Atlantic:

Michelle has begun watching Scandal. “It’s not that exciting,” said the president, of the White House. Staffers “don’t have enough time to engage in too much scandalous behavior.” Then the meal was over.

Well, now we know Michelle is a human with good taste in fashion and television, and apparently, when it comes to plastic surgery she’s equally as liberal. In her recent interview with People Magazine, Michelle spoke about turning 50 this Friday and revealed that she isn’t opposed to a little Botox here and there.

“Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves,” the first lady told People magazine in an interview hitting newsstands Friday, her birthday. “Right now, I don’t imagine that I would go that route, but I’ve also learned to never say never.”

Ugh, we just love our FLOTUS.
