King Push is on its way.

Over the past few months, Pusha T has been down in Miami working tirelessly on his My Name Is My Name follow-up, King Push. The Virginia native’s been working with his longtime friends/producers The Neptunes during a 20-day studio session.

The good folks at Montreality caught up with Pusha on his solo tour in Montreal to discuss his forthcoming album, the Grammys, and of course, Kanye.

On His King Push Album:

“It’s in the beginning stages. I’ve been in with Pharrell and Chad. And I was in Miami for a little while, so any producer that was down there I would try to link up with in between time with The Neptunes, just to see what everybody got. But I think everybody’s gonna be really happy with this album. I’m really taking my time with it. I’m not forcing any of this music; it has to live up to the title ‘King Push.’”

On the Grammys and Hip-Hop:

“People are sort of in a uproar about it, and I just think that’s a personal opinion thing. I think Kendrick had the best album to fall within that time frame, but it’s cool. I think Macklemore had one of the best grinds I’ve ever seen in music.”

Favorite Kanye song:

“My favorite record from Kanye is “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” That’s like one of the greatest songs to me.”

Fans of Pusha can catch him on his solo tour, as well as 2 Chainz’s “2 Good To Be T.R.U.” tour featuring August Alsina.
