TMZ caught up with Robin Thicke as he made his way through a D.C. airport. Check out what he had to say about the news of his recent split from wife Paula Patton in the video below.

Following news of his split with Paula Patton, Robin Thicke has spoken out for the first time, thanking his fans for all their support.

The R&B crooner took to his website on Wednesday, saying:

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me.

The statement comes after Robin canceled three shows of his Blurred Lines North American Tour in attempts to salvage his marriage to Paula and plead for her to stay. When Paula first told Robin she wanted out, he canceled his concert to fly to Canada, where she was filming a new movie, to be with her and talk things out.

The following day, after reluctantly agreeing to the split, the singer canceled that evening’s show to spend time with their three-year-old son, Julian. The final cancellation was “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Not wanting to disappoint his fans any further, it seems as though Robin is prepared to resume his tour today, saying:

I’m looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

Although the couple, who was married for nine years, announced their separation earlier this week, Robin is not quite ready to throw in the towel.

Paula was spotted for the first time since the news of the split broke earlier this week. While Paula wore a smile on her face, she did not wear her wedding ring. Check out Paula in the video below

We wish their family nothing but the best.
