Shelly Sterling, the estranged wife of Donald Sterling, will ask a probate court judge to issue an order to protect witnesses from possible intimidation from her husband.

Shelly and her attorneys will also present evidence that Sterling and his lawyers have intimidated, threatened, and harassed witnesses who will be called in the court hearing July 7 through July 10.

Shelly recently reached an agreement with former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to sell the Los Angeles Clippers for $2 billion. The NBA ordered the sale of the team following Donald Sterling’s recorded racist comments. She became the sole trustee of the Sterling Family Trust, which owns the Clippers, after two neurologists evaluated Sterling and diagnosed him with a form of dementia consistent with Alzheimer’s disease that hinders him from making decisions about his business and legal affairs.

A Los Angeles probate court will hold a four-day trial on the proposed sale to Ballmer, beginning July 7. Shelly Sterling is asking the court to uphold her deal with Ballmer.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has since banned Donald Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million after his racist comments went public. Sterling countered by suing the NBA for $1 billion.

The real estate mogul purchased the Los Angeles Clippers in 1981 for around $12 million.
