Taking a break from his social media beef with fellow MMG-signee Wale, Meek Mill stopped by his hometown of Philly to support the community after a devastating fire ravaged homes earlier this week.

The 3-alarm fire occurred in Southwest Philadelphia, was apparently started by a firecracker, and tragically killed four children. By the time the blaze was quelled, eight homes had been destroyed, ultimately displacing 32 people.

Meek Mill commented during his visit to the mourning neighborhood:

“I just wanted to come by and show my support to all the families and everybody that was hurt by this situation…I feel I’m in a position where I can help these people. Anything I can do to help them with their losses, I’m gonna do it.”

He later posted on his Instagram page:

“And, since I’m in the hood lets do some great things! Come donate clothes”todd and money 4 the kids and that died in this nasty home 8 home fire….with the fire department directly across the street! #philly they need help!”

It’s always good to see artists putting their communities first. Meek’s upcoming album Dreams Worth More Than Money hits stores in September.
