After tearing down the stage at the VMAs pre-show last night, Charli XCX debuted the video for her current single “Break The Rules.”
Charli and her girls play the crew of high school mean girls in mid-riff tees and short uniform skirts, who ditch gym to go shopping for party outfits.
The girls spend the day being badasses in the shop and show up at the party in short slinky party dresses. An obvious hater climbs to the ceiling of the party to spill what looks like pink paint onto Charli and her friends Carrie-style, but being the rebels that they are, they don’t care; they love it.
It’s a funky video with movie elements that scream Mean Girls with a dash of The Craft in the mix as well. For your viewing pleasure, press play on “Break The Rules” above.
