You’re totally not going to believe this, but today is Lorde’s 18th birthday. The anti-pop pop star can now buy a lottery ticket, grab a pack of cigarettes, and get a tattoo without her parent’s permission.
Coinciding with her birthday, the New Zealand pop star releases the video for her Hunger Games song “Yellow Flicker Beat.” The dark Emily Kai Bock-directed video features Lorde awkwardly dancing in a sketchy motel room, an empty warehouse, and by a scary looking public pool.
“Yellow Flicker Beat” is featured on the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack, which drops November 18. The movie Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters November 21.
