With so much evidence pouring out to the public since the announcement was made that Darren Wilson would not be indicted for the murder of Michael Brown, some details have flown under the radar, including a witness who admitted to having a racial bias towards African-Americans in his/her journal.
According to the Huffington Post, the entries were released by St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch’s office. It isn’t known if the witness was male or female, but the entries prove the journal’s author had racist and ignorant views about African-Americans. Referring to them as ni***ers, the witness also seems to show remorse, as they promise to turn over a new leaf in understanding other races.

On Aug. 9, the day Brown was shot by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, the witness wrote in his or her journal:
“Well I’m gonna take my random drive to Florissant. Need to understand the Black race better so I stop calling Blacks Ni**ers and Start calling them People.”
In a subsequent entry that same day following the shooting, the same witness wrote in his or her journal about seeing the shooting incident: “The cop got out left hand on face Right hand on gun. The Cop Screamed but I could not understand. Everyone was Screaming … The big kid turned around had his arms out with attitude. The cop just stood there dang if that kid didn’t start running right at the cop like a foot ball player Head down. I heard 3 bangs but the big kid wouldn’t Stop … Cop took a couple steps forward then backwards and the gun went off 2 more times. The last one on the top of the kids head. OMG the blood.”
During McCulloch’s press conference detailing the grand jury’s decision, the attorney made several alarming statements, including that social media allegedly blurred witnesses’ accounts and that so many of the witnesses who came forward were African-American.
“All the ones that I mentioned specifically were all African-Americans, were the ones who came at him in a full charge,” McCulloch said in response to a question about the race of the witnesses saying that Brown had charged. “So the others who had very consistent stories — not just with each other, not just their stories or their testimony throughout — but they were consistent with the others, several others. They’re all African-American.”
In transcripts released describing the shooting, Darren Wilson referred to the teen as “Hulk Hogan,” “it” and a demon.
Another witness known as “Witness 10” says Wilson was justified in using lethal force against the teen.
“Initially, I thought wow, did he have to use that force on him. Could he have take and retrieved his taser, and tased the young guy? He was, I felt like he was unarmed and my initial thoughts was that,” the witness said. “And, after thinkin’ about it and reviewing everything and puttin’ myself in the police officer’s shoes, I feel like he handled the situation correct force wise.”
“He came out with his weapon drawn, tryin’ to pursue the suspect then, at one point the suspect turns and if he, I felt if he was really tryin’ to give himself up, the police officer already has his gun drawn,” the witness added. “If you’re really trying to give yourself up, you’re gonna lay down on the ground and you’re gonna let it be known, but that he didn’t do that and he charged at him and at that time I feel like the police officer he didn’t have time to really react and holster his weapon and re-holster with a taser.”
St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson and Mayor Francis Slay spoke to reporters about the outcry from protestors last night, calling the riots and looting a “disappointment.”
Ironically, the many silent and peaceful protests went unnoticed.
