President Obama showed immense support for Vice President Joe Biden during the funeral for his late son Beau Biden.

Thousands including First Lady Michelle Obama came to give their respects to Beau. During the ceremony, Obama gave an emotional eulogyPeople reports:

“Anyone can make a name for themselves in this reality TV age, especially in today’s political world. If you are loud enough or powerful enough you can get some attention,” Obama, 53, said at the podium, via CNN. “But to make that name mean something, to have it associated with dignity and integrity — that is rare. There is no shortcut to get it. It’s not something you can buy. But if you do right by your children maybe you can pass it on.”

The site continues:

Obama choked up while speaking, but spoke right to Biden and Beau’s family, who sat in the front row. “What greater inheritance is there, what greater inheritance than to be a part of a family that passes on what it means to be a great parent,” he said. “That passes on the values of what it means to be a true citizen. That passes on the values of what it means to give back fully and freely without expecting anything in return.” He continued. “That’s what our country was built on, and like Beau, that’s who built it. Families like this.”

Chris Martin was also present at the funeral. The Coldplay frontman performed an emotional acoustic version of “Till Kingdom Come” in front of attendees. Watch above.

Obama expressed his gratitude towards Joe, stating that he is like a brother to him and he admired his strength. Beau passed away at the age of 46 from a long battle with brain cancer. Our condolences go out to the Biden family during this devastating time.
