The smartest 14-year-old on earth strikes again.
To promote her in-depth interview with i-D magazine, Willow Smith releases a dope new video titled “Why Don’t You Cry.” The Mike Vargas-directed video features Hollywood actor Nicole Ari Parker and her dad’s best friend Duane Martin. The visual, which was completely created in Willow’s vision, also features her big brother Trey (Will Smith’s son from a previous relationship).
Sorry folks, there’s no Jaden cameo.
i-D explains the concept of the video on their YouTube channel:
“Willow Smith inhabits a world fueled by an imagination and inquisitiveness that extend far beyond her 14 years on Planet Earth. The concept and visuals for the brand new track Why Don’t You Cry were dreamed up by the indigo child herself. Directed by her serial collaborator Nuyorktricity’s Mike Vargas and styled by i-D’s Julia Sarr-Jamois, this is Willow’s world; let’s all take a trip to it!”
Willow’s currently working on new music that she describes as “spacey percussion.” Oh, and don’t forget about her rumored collaboration with Drake. That may be coming as well.
