Well, this is interesting.

In the Westbrook-era, pushing the envelope in fashion has all but become the norm with athletes. Still, the style at last night’s NFL Draft appeared to take things to a new level. Running back Ezekiel Elliott arrived in a blue tuxedo jacket paired with white trousers and a button-down crop top.

The outfit made so many waves it even received its own Twitter moment. The New York Times reports:

“According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the shirt was not an attempt to promote a male version of Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner’s favorite look — nor one that Rihanna has been pushing via her Fenty x Puma line — but instead a political statement: a veiled reference to the N.C.A.A.’s decision in 2015 to bar college players from wearing crop-top jerseys (which are actually jerseys that have been rolled up and folded under the pads) during games.”

Despite what you may think of his outfit, you have to respect a man who’s willing to go this far for a cause he believes in. Also, Ezekiel was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys as the fourth pick, so it’s safe to say he’s not thinking about the social media chatter right now.

Congratulations, Ezekiel.
