MoNique has won an Acamedy Award for her amazing supporting actress performance in Precious!. One of the most difficult roles to play, as she balanced being a mother who was neglectful to her daughter, but also had her own issues to deal with, that made you feel for her. In one of the most memorable moments in film history, Mo’Nique gives a riveting monolgue to a social worker played by Mariah Carey, that showed the incredible acting chops MoNique has.
Yesterday, she told reporters that she wasn’t preparing an acceptance speech. When asked why, she replied ‘I think the universe would say, ‘You have a lot of nerve.’
