NBA All Star Weekend has taken over Los Angeles, and while Lebron, Kobe and the biggest names in basketball will go at it this weekend, we thought it would be cool to put together our own Hip Pop All Star Team.

We’ve split our favorite Hip-Pop celebrities into East vs. West based on their accomplishments and where they are from. So today we will give you our Hip-Pop East All Stars.

Jay-Z: As Shawn Carter is gearing up to release his next album ‘Watch The Throne’ with Kanye West, he does so on top of the world. The ‘H.A.M.’ rapper ranked tops on the Forbes Cash King list with a whopping $63 million.

Justin Bieber not only won the NBA Celebrity All Star Game MVP award, he racked up 19 other awards last year. The MTV, AMA, EMA, and Teen Choice Awards are just a few. Now that’s a lot of hardware!

Rick Ross has remained one of the biggest rappers in Hip-Hop. In 2010 he dropped more music than a clumsy record store clerk. From Teflon Don to Albert Anastasia, Ricky Rozay proved the summer was his.

Lady Gaga was born this way—a winner that is. The ‘Bad Romance’ singer has accomplished almost everything there is to accomplish in the game. As the reigning champion of Twitter and YouTube she’s a fan favorite of our Hip-Pop All Star team.

Nicki Minaj was called the new queen of hip-hop, her album went toe-to-toe with Kanye West and she has changed the game. From skits on SNL to her creative videos, this Young Money general from Queens, NY is a Hip-Pop All Star for sure.

Jesse Eisenberg has a slew of entertaining and successful movies. Most recently ‘The Social Network’ which is critically acclaimed.

Rihanna makes our Hip-Pop Squad with a super successful album this year. Earlier this year ‘Loud’ was certified platinum, a huge accomplishment in a time of lacking record sales.

Dakota Fanning had an amazing 2010, she starred in two amazing movies, ‘The Runaways’ and ‘Twilight.’ What we love most is she decided not take any lead roles until she finishes high school. Now that is Hip-Pop!

B.o.B. almost walked away from the music game a few year ago and decided to come back. Now he is on top of the world with numerous hit singles and accolades. This Atlanta rapper has given hope to the future of music.
