Star Trak producer/rapper and certified N.E.R.D. frontman is back!! Pharrell Williams has been a little quiet musically these past few months, but now he has a new track entitled “The Game Has Changed.” Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex dropped like five bombs on the song as he leaked it to the world yesterday.
Apparently, during Pharrell’s musical hiatus, he’s figured out that “the game has changed,” and not for the better. Pharrell raps over Daft Punk’s “Tron: Legacy” instrumental beat and he pretty much kills it.
Pharrell addresses his absence from the rap game and reveals what he’s been doing for the past year. “I know I disappeared and popped up in Paris making chairs with a beard/And those that loved me probably thought that it was weird/ While the haters was happy, they thought my destiny was cleared.”
