This fall, TV is going to be extremely interesting. With the flurry of series premieres on basic TV alone, sometimes you never really know which show to follow. So instead of focusing on the commerical shows that everyone is watching. We though we’d round up shows that you may not have heard of, and some that you have, but you should definitely watch.

Boardwalk Empire

First is Boardwalk Empire! Usually a trending topic on Twitter every Sunday night, Boardwalk Empire has made quite an impression. Three episodes deep and this HBO show has a strong following. The show is adapted by the novel Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City by Nelson Johnson and is produced by Emmy-award winning producer and screenwriter of The Sopranos, Terence Winter.

Set in the Roaring 20’s in Atlantic City, this show centers around Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson, played by Steve Buscemi, who is a political figure who rose to prominence and controlled Atlantic City, New Jersey during the Prohibition period of the 1920s and 1930s. Nucky is affiliated with a lot of the crime in the city.

Reminiscent of The Sopranos, the show is extremely interesting and somehow remains to be extremely relevant to our time. If you haven’t even started to watch this show, you need to definitely catch up and DVR it every Sunday.

What’s Eating You?

If you really into the docu-series area, What’s Eating You? Is definitely one to watch! Scheduled to premiere Wednesday, October 13th on E! at 10pm, the show is based on following the lives of REAL people with unusual compulsive eating disorders.

One woman in particular has a ritual of eating a roll of toilet paper dipped in pickle juice every night before bed and another person who lives in seclusion who feels compelled twigs, pencils and super glue.

Usually this is a show you might find on TLC, but it is good to see E! tackling something that is not so glittery and Hollywood. We can’t wait to see this six-part series!
