At 9 years old, Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, is already signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label. She dropped her first music video this past week for “Whip My Hair,” to which she brings a fun and entertaining energy that matches her unique style. Some have already compared Willow to superstar, Rihanna, who coincidentally, was also first signed by Def Jam’s then president, Jay-Z. As long as she keeps whipping it real hard, I believe that she has the “it” factor which can make an artist a true star.

Atlantic Records also scooped up the young son of legendary Run D.M.C.’s Rev Run with a quickness. Diggy Simmons, 15, caught my attention when he dropped his “Made You Look” freestyle which possesses a sick flow and confident lyrics such as “the flow I cater is something major, an indicator of what happens later. It‘s greater than you‘ve anticipated.” If those lines are promises which are combined with his talent, I have no doubt that he has the potential for greatness.

Are they the future of music? The Jay-Z and Beyonce of tomorrow? Only time will tell but there is no doubt that they seem to have what it takes. The buzz surrounding them is hardly going unnoticed. Certainly, Willow Smith and Diggy Simmons have a lot to prove but if they keep up this momentum, both are unquestionably on a fast track to the top.

KEEP GOING TO SEE VIDEOS OF THESE YOUNG PHENOMS!
