The 2010 Academy Awards were last night and there were many surprises, and now the arguments on who should have won is starting to begin. What seems to be the arugument brewing is, who should have won for best picture? Well the Academy Awards voted and The Hurt Locker was the movie of the year. The Hurt Locker is the lowest grossing film of all time to win the Best Picture prize. It only brought about $12 million compared to Avatar, which brought in enough money to rebuild the entire United States economy. Also, interestingly enough is that the director of The Hurt Locker, Kathryn Bigelow, use to be married to James Cameron, the director of Avatar…so, not only did she beat his film, she beat her ex!
