What defines ambition??? Is it self fulfillment or is there a monetary figure attached to it?? Am I any less ambitious if I don’t make a million dollars, but never compromise myself or my ideals to conform to mainstream politics?? And would you think any less of me if I never dropped an album, but managed to change the lives of a few kids in my neighborhood?? Would I still be successful?? Or would I be a failure in your eyes?? Most of the things we visualize in our culture are a facade. I’ve spent countless hours with the biggest name athletes and some of the most successful entertainers in the game, but I’ve also spent time with the other spectrum; the preachers, the nurses, the special ed teachers some of the unsung heros of our communities. And I see and have always seen things from both angles.

In my young life I’ve done things most rappers can only dream of in their videos and in their mixtape verses, I’ve hopped out of numerous G4’s and driven Maybachs and Mazeratis, even partied with some of the most beautiful and revered models of our time. But does that make me feel successful??

No, it only makes me appear successful to the onlookers but when you dig deeper am I were I wanna be as a person not only as the brand Diego Ca$h but as a man with the birthname my mother gave me. Don’t get me wrong I’m very blessed and grateful that my eyes have seen things most people can only imagine, but the wider your eyes are opened the more your able 2 see and dissect things. I’ve grown to appreciate the smaller more precious moments in life. To say that I say this, I am a very ambitious persons with visions of grandeur and chart topping success, but I refuse to limit my success or ambition to the pages of The Robb Report.

As minisucle as it may seem I am a fixture in my neighborhood, I sit outside and throw the football with the elementary kids on a regular basis not for sport but to give them a chance to express themselves on their terms without feeling judged. And in turn they entrust in me and feel comfortable confiding in me. Its not rare to see a group of kids at my door asking for help with there homework or midterm reports, or even for a little advice on what to say to the new girl at school, and in the mist of these conversations

I’m able to sprinkle a little knowledge and guidance on there ever absorbing minds…. So in my eyes regardless if I ever achieve my desired postion in this industry I AM A SUCCESS because I will leave a lasting legacy and a footprint for the children who come from where I’m from to aspire for greatness and to reach back and help others…

See to me, ambition doesn’t have a dollar sign attached to it….
