Why does this keep happening? Yes, Lindsay is a rich, young and good looking starlet, but does that give her a non-expiring get out of jail free card? It shows you just how twisted our legal system can be. This chick can hire teams of lawyers to get her out of just about anything she has up her sleeve. I get it, she is afflicted. She has a problem and needs help. However, she has broken the law time and time again and basically spit in the face of or legal system. She has a sense of entitlement because she has money and fame (infamy?) If that were me or you, the average American, we would be sitting in the County Jail rotting. There is something fundamentally wrong with that!
It sends the message that because someone doesn’t have the money to hire a high profile lawyer (most of us would probably be looking at a public defender, let’s just be honest) we would most likely, end up getting the book thrown at us. If that isn’t enough to enrage the general public, the blatant disrespect she shows to the judge by continually lying makes me see red.
Addiction is a serious disease and by no means am I attempting to downplay that. But when getting a fair trial/getting a second chance is based on how much money you have we have a huge problem. In my opinion, as soon as she graduates from rehab for the millionth time, lock her bratty ass up and make her serve her time like the rest of us would have to do.
