Hey everyone. Today I am giving you a remix of the hit single Rude Boy by Rihanna, sung by Sean Kingston. You might notice that in this version he is singing ‘Rude Girl’ instead of ‘Rude Boy.’ Well that is only because the gender in the song has to be the opposite gender of the singer.
This remix is well done and it is interesting to hear a man sing these words and not a woman. In some cases, it could be a total bust for a man to sing a woman’s song, but in this case, it works. Kingston’s semi-high pitched voice is one of the reasons he is able to sing this song. Also, the way he adds some rap and freestyle in the middle of the song, flows well from one half of the song to the other.
The original is already a great song, but the remix definitely doesn’t ruin it. It is always nice to get a different feel of a song by having the opposite gender sing it. This remix might be more popular with people who like rap and hip-hop than the original, but some people could like both. It all depends on which genre of music you like because the remix and original are two different genres.
