Two sailing instructors were sailing their yacht off of Rebben Island, which is near Capetown, South Africa, when a massive whale crashed right on their deck. The whale, which weighed around 40 tons was nearly as big as the 33-foot-yacht.
Ralth Mothes and Paloma Werner assumed the whale would swim beneath the boat, however it made a failed attempt to jump over it. Luckily, neither the sailors nor whale suffered severe damage. The animal thrashed about on the yacht for a time, but then made it back into the water, and the fact that the couple’s boat was made of steel saved their lives.
Although this was an incredibly bizarre, freak accident, strangely behaving animals aren’t exactly out of the ordinary. Need proof? Check out the following videos…
